WEAPONDEREPLAY

Um, it’s 4:38AM right now so if this is confusing please excuse me.. I just thought it would be appropriate to say thank you.

The end of June last year some stuff happened that really broke me, I got harrassed and threatened by older ‘hard’ guys I’d never met, I was terrified to leave the house. Through that, I found myself listening to Lostprophets, whenever I just couldn’t take anymore. Everyday Combat was the song I blasted anytime I had to walk into town alone I found reason to smile in that song when I walked past them alone and got insulted to my face, leaving them dumbfounded that I wasn’t upset. Where We Belong was my song of the summer, it gave me a little bit of hope for the future when I had none at all.

I’d gotten a few random replies from you on twitter about silly things, which helped me a lot, and I often found myself smiling at you retorting to idiots attempting to insult you on twitter. Which, as pathetic as it sounds, taught me to stand up for myself.

In July, I ended up in hospital, I’d bottled things up so much my physical health got damaged, the day after I’d gotten out of hospital the police called round cause the bullies had made an accusation up about my mother, it came to nothing though.

But exactly a week after this, my friend and I waited outside the speakeasy in Belfast after L’Amour La Morgue and FF5, and tortured Ben and Colin everytime they came out for a fag, asking if you were coming outside.. & then we couldn’t believe it that you’d come out to see only two fans.

I can honestly say that having the chance to meet you for even just that short time, you helped me get myself back together so much, just a conversation, laughing at how amused you were with your whistle, signing my iphone case & getting a hug from you was enough to stop me crying myself to sleep every night, thinking about how people would be better off if I didn’t exist, and made me look forward to the future. Instead I woke up smiling, blasting Where We Belong and looking forward to moving to a new school in a different town & starting out new.

A day before I started my new school I had the chance to see Lostprophets live at Belsonic, even though it poured from the heavens it was one of the most amazing nights I’ll always remember. You and the rest of Lostprophets [and Keith O’Neil!] weren’t aware of it throughout the summer, but at the time, you guys were the only thing that held me together and from not doing anything stupid.

Whether it be from your music & lyrics that people can relate to, your tweets, video blogs, or if you’re lucky, through live shows, it’s amazing how it felt like when I had absolutely nobody at all, I was able to turn to six people that didn’t know of my existence. If it hadn’t been for you guys just being yourselves, I’m pretty sure I would’ve ended up spending a lot more time in hospital.

Thank you so much, honestly I can’t say that enough.

Please don’t ever stop making music. x
